“Why did nobody warn me about the perils of midlife and menopause?”
From the throes of her own hot flashes and bustling career, renowned podcast host and wellness expert April Raque is giving what GEN-Xers never got - instruction to get through this next part of life. When her own health bucked April off the corporate conveyor belt mid-way through life, she landed with a thud. And then she did as any good GEN-X kid would: she figured it out. Using her formal education in health, wellness, and design alongside the trademark independence of her generation, April crafted her own mid-life chapter into a place of joy.
With the October 7, 2025 release of the book from the Rebeca Books fall line, GEN-X women will be equipped to become the boss of their midlife, too. The water hose is flowing and the street lights are nowhere near turning on. Climb up in the clubhouse for some frank talk about managing the challenges and changes unique to this mid-life moment and designing it all into a life of wellness.

WHO SHOULD READ THIS BOOK
More and more, and rightfully so, GEN-X women are searching for a way to have a better life. One free of stress, more authentically aligned, full of purpose and joy. Midlife has become a moment to free ourselves of the shackles we’ve grown up with, in order to have a liberating, authentic, and very personal experience. It’s time for a different perspective and more guidance on how to explore oneself and the possibility of doing midlife and life differently than what we as GEN-X women were conditioned to expect and accept.

I couldn't be more excited and scared all at the same time. This book is an opportunity for GEN-X women to have a better life. While I used my life as a foundation of the book, it was my conversations and experiences with the women I love in my life that really crafted the entire narrative. This book is a love letter to the tenacity and resilience of my beloved, often forgotten, generation of incredible women, and a guide to how to live the life you want to live - on your own terms, as usual.
