MEET OUR FOUNDER.
April Raque’s journey to creating Wellness Design Group began with a simple but profound realization: the spaces we live in can either support our health—or slowly work against it.
In 2019, her life shifted when she faced burnout and a stress-related illness. That experience became the catalyst for change. Determined to heal and find balance, April immersed herself in the study of environmental wellness and the nervous system. She pursued advanced certifications as a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, a Mayo Clinic Certified Wellness Coach, and a Cornell University–certified wellness counselor. Along the way, she discovered a deeper truth: true wellness isn’t just about diet and exercise—it’s rooted in the environments we inhabit every day.
By blending her interior design degree from Indiana State University with her new expertise in environmental wellness, human-centered design, and biophilic design, Wellness Design Group was born.
Today, April transforms living environments into places of restoration. She helps people minimize toxic exposure, support their nervous systems, and align their homes with their personal health goals. Her approach is holistic and human-centered, driven by a belief that our homes should be partners in our wellness journey.
In addition to consulting, April is a Usui Shiki Royho Reiki Master, speaker, and author of GENX the Adult Era: Designing a Life of Wellness. She also co-hosts the podcast THINGS MOM NEVER SAID: Secrets to Aging Well.
April’s mission is simple: create environments that nurture, restore, and empower people to thrive every day., while honoring the planet.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
This work is deeply personal. It’s more than a profession.
It’s a calling born from a path to healing. April's work invites others to experience the simple truth she’s come to live by: when your home supports your well-being, everything else thrives.
Our philosophy is built on a deep understanding of how profoundly our surroundings influence our physical, mental, and emotional health. It is our mission to help others reclaim their health by transforming the spaces they live in.
The truth is, we spend the majority of our lives indoors—and yet, most spaces are not designed with human health in mind.
Wellness Design Group is here to change that. We don’t just design spaces—We design outcomes.
